Cognitive Function Macro-Tests

Cognitive Function Macro-Tests

While micro-tests capture flashes of function use, macro-tests immerse a person in a longer scenario. These 10–30 minute exercises simulate real-world situations where a function must carry the weight of analysis, memory, planning, or empathy. Instead of a single reflex, macro-tests reveal patterns of endurance, clarity, and stress-handling. They don’t just ask “Can you use this function?” but rather “What happens when you must live inside this function for a while?”

Introverted Intuition (Ni)

Test: Pattern Compression Journal

  • Give a set of symbols, quotes, and events (10–15 items).
  • Task: Write a single page that finds the one hidden thread and predicts future outcomes.
  • Scoring: Depth of insight, ability to unify scattered data, clarity of future vision.

Extraverted Intuition (Ne)

Test: Idea Webstorm

  • Task: Generate 20+ creative connections, then expand 3 of them into full “what-if” scenarios.
  • Scoring: Variety, originality, playfulness of expansion, and ability to keep branching.

Introverted Sensing (Si)

Test: Memory Recreation

  • Show a detailed 3–4 minute video/story.
  • After 15 minutes, ask them to retell exact details: order, numbers, colors, sequence.
  • Scoring: Accuracy, attention to order, consistency of sensory detail.

Extraverted Sensing (Se)

Test: Real-Time Immersion

  • Place them in a room with 15–20 objects.
  • Task: Give 60 seconds to scan → then remove 3 objects and slightly rearrange. Ask them to report changes.
  • Second round: Ask them to physically interact (stack, balance, sort) against a short timer.
  • Scoring: Responsiveness, precision under time pressure, perceptual acuity.

Introverted Thinking (Ti)

Test: System Dissection

  • Give a flawed set of rules (e.g., “new card game instructions” with logical gaps).
  • Task: Identify contradictions, propose corrected rules, and explain why.
  • Scoring: Clarity of reasoning, precision in spotting inconsistencies, elegance of fixes.
